How to apply for a family visit visa.

Written by the host with both parties' details, relationship, purpose, duration, accommodation and who pays. Use the destination's official language or English. Japan also requires a guarantee form.

Household register, birth certificate, marriage certificate or a notarized kinship certificate. The US and Canada accept a household register with translation; Japan and some Schengen countries prefer notarization.

Usually 30–180 days, similar to a tourist visa. The applicant must still show their own funds and home-country ties — do not rely only on the invitation.
